Restoring the River Don Engine

Kelham Island Museum's famous River Don Engine is being restored to working order. Damaged by the floods in June 2007, work is underway to clean, restore and repaint it. Forgemasters are supporting the project with voluntary help and Dorothea Restorations have been commission to undertake this eight week project.

There are still some of us interested......... Although it would be nice to see a few more updates on here as to how the restoration is going and when it will be open to the public again.

However, I am sure they are so busy restoring the haven't got time to Blog :)

God Bless
